The best pitch for the Farr 30 comes from anyone who's sailed one. Almost everyone ranks the Farr 30 as thier all-time favorite sailboat. It's mine, and I draw from a pretty big sample!

It's really easy to forget that you are sailing a pretty little boat when you're on a Farr 30. For one thing, 30 footers aren't supposed to go downwind at 20 Knots. Upwind, a 30 footer shouldn't really treat 40 footers like chicanes.
They do.
It confuses Race Committes when they first encounter a Farr 30 fleet in a mixed regatta. They start them 3rd or 4th, only to find the whole 30 fleet mixed in with the 45 footers!

The Farr 30 has sportsboat performance, but it's a real boat! When the wind gets into the high twenties it's just getting fun! A nice bonus is that there is extra crew hanging around from the 'other 32s' who are tied to the dock in terror. In the past few years; Farr 30s have won the Chicago-Mac and LO300 overall, and even raced the Sydney-Hobart.

The class has recently re-organized, to become more owner-centric. Regional fleets are gaining strength and the International scene is heating up.

The boat is remakably affordable, has strict class rules limiting the $$ you spend on pros and sails.

Stagg Yachts is in charge of sales for the Farr 30. Contact them for ordering information. Or better still, take a ride, and just send Geoff a check!
